Avoiding Rejected 5010 Claims. To avoid rejected Version 5010 claims remember: “I” and “Y” are the only two Release of Information Codes allowed in Version 5010.
Clarify Instructions For Patient Hierarchy. When using the 270/271 transaction sets, be sure to clarify instructions for patient hierarchy.
Claims Must Contain 9-Digit Zip. Remember all claims must contain a 9-digit zip code. The last four digits may not be “0000.”
Report Anesthesia Services In "Minutes". Remember the 837 transaction set now requires anesthesia services to be reported in minutes instead of units.
