Welcome to the Texas Regional Extension Centers' website!

This site was developed to support the collaboration efforts of the four Texas Health Information Technology (HIT) Regional Extension Centers (RECs), giving a strong and unified voice for Texas HIT initiatives. The TxRECs are among the 60 Regional Extension Centers around the country, designated to offer eligible health care professionals a local resource for technical assistance, guidance, and information on best practices to support and accelerate health care provider efforts to become meaningful users of certified EHRs.

Information and links to useful web sites will be maintained to assist Texas primary care providers in their selection and meaningful use of electronic health records.  You will also find links to the web sites of the individual Texas RECs below.

The four Texas Regional Extension Centers (RECs) continue to collaborate on gathering information about Electronic Health Record (EHR) offerings in the Texas marketplace. Our goal remains to create a source of useful information to Texas practitioners as they select, adopt, and use EHRs in their practices. Please check RFQ Process.
